Closing General Session

The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) has been providing opportunities and support to people with disabilities so that they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness for over 20 years. In that time, athletes with physical challenges have gone from sitting on the sidelines to participating in mainstream school sports, competing in the Olympic Games and dancing on national television. Each new generation of athletes has blazed the trail to inspire younger athletes to focus on what they can do, rather than lamenting what they can’t. Their ability to overcome what many would see as impossible engage us all in their journeys, and innovations in technology coupled with more inclusionary attitudes towards people with disabilities have completely revolutionized adaptive sport – and the world around us.
